It's 10 minutes to 6 (a.m) as i'm starting to write. Laid myself on the bed after long hours of net-surfing, rolled over (for i don't know how many times), played Vortex on my Nano until stage 17....and i still don't feel sleepy! Serves me right, for the 11 hour sleep i had yesterday and the ciggies i've been smoking the whole nite! So i thought: what the hell, let me just write something in this blog (which has been senyap sunyi for a very long time).
I suddenly thought of the word INSPIRATION. I checked my thesaurus (instead of a dictionary, because someone borrowed it and never returned it back) and found that the word is synonymous with: STIMULUS, MOTIVATION, INFLUENCE, MUSE, INCENTIVE
INSPIRATION for me comes in many different forms, such as real people (be it celebrities or people in my life), fictional characters from a movie, songs, TV shows, movies, etc and they apply to different situations in my life.
So here are my inspirations:
1) Mariah Carey, Anuar Zain, Boyz II Men
These are the my essential singers to think about before i perform for any occasions (Malaysian Night ke, Annual Spring Concert ke, whatever la). Actually, i need to not only think about them, but also to watch them perform "live" in a concert. Dunno why, but probably because i helps me to berangan as if i sound as goood as they do. Hehe, it helps, u know!
2) House M.D (TV series)
I know, it's stereotypical for medical students to enjoy watching medical-based dramas and comedies like House, Grey's, E.R and all, but it's very understandable why. Although probably don't show us the really real life of medical personnels, they really inject some motivation in me. I don't really care much about Grey's though....watched the first season and wasn't really tempted to watch the next. But House.....emmmm, couldn't stop at first season, had to continously watch the coming episodes. Honestly speaking, House actually INSPIRED me to study Internal Med a little bit more than i usually do! (i know, how shallow is that?)
3) Scrubs (TV series)
This is another medical-themed tv series, but really, i don't watch it because it's about Medicine. Call me immature, but i found that every episode always gives me something to realize about. It's all in JD's monologues at the end of every episode. I duno why, but they're always meaningful to me, and i can always relate to whatever he's saying. So, whenever i feel the need to be reminded about something in life, i'd just play some episodes on the GOM player and there, i'd be INSPIRED!
4) Hero (song)
The title itself is self explanatory on why it's inspirational. And when you add Miss Carey as the singer, this song becomes super special to me. I think most people know this song (whether you love her or hate her!) and i'm sure that anyone can relate to the messages contained in the lyrics. Cheesy? Yes, but then again, my favorite Pizza Hut IS Hawaiian Supreme, coz they have extra mozzarella in it!
5) Wedding Wars (movie)
If you've already watched the movie, then you'd know that i'm probably just coming out to you (hehe). I thank Mariam so much for recommending me to watch this, because i enjoyed it too much! i mean, ever since i copied this movie from the network (few days ago), i've watched it for maybe 6 times! crazy bitch! Why's it inspirational? I dunno la.....probably because it gives me the hope of finding love like that? that everything will end up happily in the end? Heh, life's too sad, that i only have movies to watch to make believe that love will come my way (eh, motif kau feeling2 ni apehalll?)

In the Mood for Love..again.
I've seen this thing before, but today i saw it again in my friendster's bulletin board.....and I loved it! Just to share......
Bila lelaki benar-benar jatuh cinta dan setia pada kekasihnya dengan ikhlas, perubahan sikapnya amat mengejutkan.

Tips: Are you faithful?
I was just surfing the net when I stumbled upon a webpage with an article about the signs of infidelity in a man. Sounds useful, huh? (I mean, of course, for women and gay guys).
In a world where anything can happen, it’s good to have a ‘guide’ to help us protect ourselves from the painfully hurting feeling of being cheated upon. I mean, how many people you know are actually perfectly faithful to their partner? At some point in a lovey-dovey relationship, someone will just end up cheating the significant other, rite?
So, back to the ‘symptoms’…….they’re quite interesting, actually. And quite surprising too.
There are 5, and here they are:
#1 : He never pays his bills on timeThis shows that the guy is unreliable and careless, meaning that if he doesn’t even care about his own responsibilities, why would he be responsible in his relationships
I SAY: hmmmm…agak terasa jugak. Sounds like me. Does “not doing exam on time” belong in this group?
#2: He’s a Do-GooderWhich means that he’s a guy who does lots of good, beneficial stuffs for others. But how come? Here’s why: by being a Do-Gooder, these people can justify the wrong things they do (i.e. cheating) with explanations that they’re not doing anything wrong at all. Konon konon nak kata yang they have a very high moral standards la tuh.
I SAY: really? Maybe….
#3: He’s richThe explanation is that, people with lower income tend to be more dependent on others in a relationship and thus, they are not very likely to ruin the relationship.
I SAY: I don’t think that’s very true. I mean, I know an acquaintance of my dad, who’s not very rich, but still decided to cheat on his wife. Jahat!
#4: He likes to yellErmm..yeah, yelling and shouting with anger is not very much connected to cheating (I think it just makes the significant other stay away from you….), but some studies have shown that unfaithful partners have many similarities in personalities with abusive, angry ones.
I SAY: yup, anger doesn’t really help, you know……
#5: He’s in love with mirrorsActually, that’s the other way of saying that he’s a narcissistic. He’s soo much into himself and his self-importance that he’ll never think about the effects of him cheating his partner.
I SAY: but hey..if you need to fix your hair?
So girls (and some guys), hopefully those signs will be helpful when you’re choosing someone as your partner…….

Cookery: Chocolate Chip Cookies
If i have to make a list of things that makes my world goes around, i will have to include COOKING, because i enjoy it so much, it becomes an essential part of my life.
For this entry, i'm gonna talk about my all-time fav: Choc chip cookies. And, i really enjoy sharing (with anyone who's interested) the recipes i've tried and came out nice, so this is exactly the thing i'm gonna do: SHARE.
This is a fairly easy thing to make. Well, actually, to be honest, this is the ONLY cookies i've ever made, so maybe for me it has become an easy thing. And i HAVE been making these cookies for years. Hehe.
First, we'll start with the ingredients:
*purleez try to use standard measuring cups to measure the ingredients, k? even for the teaspoons, use the standard one
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder/baking soda
1 tsp salt
250g butter (try ur best to get сливочное масло (which is butter) and NOT margarine, okay? kalau confuse tak tau nak beli yang mane, kat "department" dairy products tuh, carik yang mane harga mahal2 sket, sebab kalau yang murah macam 8-9 rubles, tu pastinye margarine)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 whole egg
1 egg yolk (reti tak nak asingkan yolk from the white?)
1 tsp vanilla essence
Choc chips (kalau sebetulnye la....but memandangkan kat russia yang tercinta ni haku tak tau la plak katne nak carik choc chips kan, bole je gune chocolat bar yang dipotong cube kecik2....i usually use alpen gold's: 1 bar milk choc + 1 bar dark choc..but suke ati la nak gune choc ape2 ponn..)
NOW......cecara membuatnye.
1st skalik, pastikan butter dan telur berada pada suhu bilik, which means, kalau nak buat biskut ni time petang, kluarkan la telur dan butter from the fridge pagi tu ke, tghari tu ke...
So, kalau sume bahan dah ade kat atas meja. Kite MOOOLERR!
1) into a large bowl, combine tepung, baking soda/powder and salt dan gaul bersama using a fork, try to gaulkan serata mungkin. Then, amek sifter atau penapis yang tak begitu halus (kalau takde, pinjam je kat Amy Nur Diyana, room 214 hostel 3) and put the mixture into the sifter dan sift into another bowl.
2) into another big bowl (bape banyak mangkuk nak gune ni?), put the butter and sugar. Using a wooden spoon/sudip, beat them until kembang (camne nak tau ek? emmm.....beat 'em up sampai the colour becomes pale)......this can be tiring at first, but teruskan aje, jangan nak malas malas!).
3)then, throw in the eggs (both whole and yolk) and vanilla and kacau lagi sampai kembang.
4)bile dah kembang, masukkan mixture tepung tadi and kacau pelan2, so that muke korang tak dicemari tepung2 itu. bile dah agak well incorporated, boleh la kacau laju2 sket, sampai la sume tepung tu bercampur dan tak de napak putih2 lagi.
5)finally, masukkan choc pieces dan gaul bagi rata dan tak bertompok sana sini. basically, the dough dah siap dan kalau Lope ada berhampiran, bole la suruh die makan, sebab Lope sangat suke makan bende2 camtuh.
6)eh, lupe nak cakap tadi...before nak start buat, preheat la dulu oven korang (abt 175C) ye.
7)amik baking pan, line with baking sheets/grease it.
8)so, skang nih, ntuk letak dough tu kat baking tray, korang boleh la gune tangan ke, gune sudu ke.....macam ni hah:
9)bile dah abis letak, masuk dalam oven and bakar lebih kurang 10 mins kot. Pandai2 la check sendri ek. Kalau nak tau dah masak ke blum, check for its colour. it should become golden brown.
10)bile dah masak, kluarkan the tray from oven, tunggu sejuk sket, then baru angkat biskut tu dan letak atas pinggan (or ideally wire rack) dan bagi die completely cool before transferrring the cookies in to a beautiful IKEA cookie jar.
Finally, pamerkan hasik kerja ni kat sume tetamu yang datang ke bilik........
Okay? Cube la ye? And tell me the result. Kalau tak sedap tuh, tau tau la nak tunding jari kat sape kan?

Movie comments: STARDUST
I have to admit that i haven't been watching movies lately. I don't know lah, watching movies used to be in my "top 5 things i really really enjoy doing even when it means that i'm wasting my precious time", but now, it all seems to fade away. Naturally, i blame my depression!
But today, i had a slight change in my "mood for movies" and decided to watch a movie which has been in my HD for few weeks already (got it from Amir.....thanks Amir!), called STARDUST. I kinda like the title, coz it sounds......i don't know.....magical? hehe.

This movie falls in the action, fantasy genre and it featured some well-knowned stars, like Robert DeNiro, Michelle Pfeiffer (looking super gorgeous at times), Rupert Everett (my favourite gay actor, ever! thanks to My Best Friend's Wedding), Sienna Miller and Claire Danes as the star itself (i mean, literally the star, as in bintang di langit malam....). The main actor is someone i've never heard of: Charlie Cox (sape die nih?)
Ok, the plot of this movie is not that complicated. Basically, the main character, Tristan (Charlie Cox) is a gampang, hasil drpd hubungan luar nikah of this one man (his dad), with a princess who was caught by a witch and made a slave. 18 years later, Tristan's dad gave him a letter from the mom (he grew up without his mom), together with a magical black candle (forgot its name) which can bring him anywhere he wishes to go. Tristan was in love with Victoria (Sienna Miller), but the bitchy Vic doesn't, She likes Humphrey instead (some guy, tak penting pun). But stupid Tristan still wants her, so to impress her, he promised her to bring her a star, as a sign of his love. At the same time, a star fell from the sky, in the form of a beautiful girl (Claire Danes). People on earth saw it as a shooting star. So, Tristan held the candle and thought about the place where the star landed and was brought there (of course, by magic). He got there and saw the girl. Then come another character, the fugly, old witch (Michelle Pfeiffer), who's been waiting for so long for this star to come crashing on earth. Al-kaedahnye, if she gets to the star girl and rip her chest open and get her heart, she'll become young and beautiful forever and ever (awet muda la kononnye tuh..). So, bermula la pengembaraan mereka. Banyak lagi sebenarnye, but malas nak cite.
Here are the things that i like about this movie:
1) the musical score is very powerful, at the right scenes. You can easily capture the moments by the music. Very....goosebumpy!
2) the plot is very nice and interesting, tak rasa bosan punn, even though the movie runs for more than 2 hrs.
3)kinda love the SFX, not totally perfect, but very good.
4)i really like the way htey show how Claire's character glow according to her emotions (apparently, a star shines when it's happy....) (she was shining soooo brightly when Tristan told her he loves her)(fantasy, huh?)
5)Robert DeNiro as the "fonen coverina". Hehe, sangat tak boleh blah! The first time he came out to the audience: "ever tried to get a bloodstain out of a silk shirt? Nightmare!!!" Hehe, totally got me there! Bee-atch!
So, in conclusion, this is a very entertaining movie for me and if you get the chance or if you have this movie in your HD but hesitant to watch, just give it atry...i don't think you'll regret watching it.

Song Review: I'm the Lucky One
I have some happy moments in my life and one of those moments is when i found out that Anuar Zain (my most favourite malaysian male singer at the moment) released a new album after 5 years (but thank God he decided to sing something in between those years..you know, that haunting song from the schweet movie "Cinta"). Unfortunately i'm in russia, so i couldn't get the cd. But fortunately the world wide web is here, so i got to download the whole album. YAY!
Of course, before the album was released, they started playing the first single "Lelaki Ini", which was a hit, topping the charts in most malay radio stations. I, of course, got hooked on it immediately after the first listen.
Then, after i downloaded the whole album, i listened to it and again, immediately fell in love with it! All the songs are good!
The first song i fell in love with was the first track, called "I'm the Lucky One". At first, i thought it was an english song (the title's english, rite?), but no. It's a malay song with the phrase "I'm the lucky one" inserted in some places, just like Kris Dayanti's "I'm sorry, goodbye".
So, to start the review: To me, if i wanted to describe this song in one word, it would be: SWEET. Lyrically, there's a positive tone in it, telling the listeners to "celebrate" love. Melodically, it's very merdu! i just melted when i listened to it, and Anuar's voice just makes this song a special song. The part that really got me smiling was when he started singing the first line of the chorus: Meski bercinta kadang tak indah, tapi untuk buktikan kau yang terindah......very indonesian.

I'd like to share with you a very beautiful song, lyrically AND melodically. Macam yang tertulih kat atas teww, tajuk die Pour Que Tu M'aime Encore, which is french for (bak kata Vikash dan Varun) "So That You'll Love Me More".
Ok, briefing sket pasal penyanyi lagu ni:
Originally, this song was sung by Celine Dion (oh, so Diva!), but i've never heard it before. Then, i listened to the songs of the group Il Divo (haaa, mesti ramai tak tau kan, pasal group nih) and this song played. I was so captivated! Haiyooooooooo, best sangatz! Obviously, at first i fell in love with this song because of the melody la kan? Ye la, sejak bile pulak aku blaja french plak kan, nak paham what the song means? So, sebab minat yang sangat bernafsu, i searched for the lyrics from the net, dengan harapan nak nyanyi la kat bilik kan. Tapi....french ni mmg siyall tau, bukan main susah lagi nak pronounce the words. So, i went to Vikash for help in the pronunciation and stuffs. It actually helped la jugak. Then he offered to translate the song for me. So, i said, "yeah, sure. If you have the time." So he did. And my oh my, i almost melted while he was translating it. I mean, it's not super duper great or anything, but it certainly means something. But actually, the main word is : BEAUTIFUL . So, just so you know, i've been and still practising this song. Kene hafal nih!
